Liverpool are aiming to be crowned league champions for the first time in 29 years and remain locked in a thrilling title battle with Manchester City.
Jurgen Klopp saw his men dealt a cruel lesson in Europe’s elite competition in midweek when they suffered a 3-0 reverse at the Nou Camp.
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has the title in his sightsGarmin
Although the Reds’ defeat away to Barca was a bruising experience, City boss Guardiola praised his side’s rivals and he expects them to bounce back.
“I don’t think it will affect them,” Guardiola said on what the Merseyside outfit’s mindset will be after their defeat to the Catalan giants.
“The game was incredibly good. Liverpool were outstanding. I enjoyed watching it.
“I think it will be not easy at Newcastle but they’ll be well prepared to win there.
‘Liverpool must be proud of what they did in the most difficult stadium.
“They played with personality and courage.”
City meanwhile, will have to cope without Kevin De Bruyne once again while Fernandinho remains a doubt.
Guardiola’s side are currently on 92 points, just one point ahead of Liverpool.
