The Eight Coronavirus Case In NIgeria Today







As you know we've had all  cases of corona virus infection in Nigeria  imported and another one a contact of the index case who was identified here in Nigeria and  five new cases confirmed making a total of eight cases are in the country.

All the contacts are a tryst with in this case have been satisfied to go home after the 14 days of observation and the index case is on the verge of also being requested to go home after the conclusion of his treatment but we have a new case we do stringent surveillance efforts of the Federal Ministry of Health have identified of this new case of a corona virus disease within our borders which now bring the total number of confirmed cases of five in Nigeria.
The third latest case is a Nigerian national in her 30s who returned from a brief visit to the United Kingdom  on the 13th of March fortunately she he did all the advisory we have given and decided upon returning home to go into a 14-day self-isolation but subsequently she developed symptoms of fever and cough reported on the 16th of March at which point she voluntarily called the Nigeria Center for Disease Control hotline to report her condition.

Officials from Lagos State Emergency Operations Center were immediately dispatched to her home to collect samples which upon testing came out positive for coronavirus the lady is currently at the infectious disease hospital in Yaba where she has remained clinically stable and is responding to treatment intensive contact tracing has begun to help identify all persons who the patient has been in contact with since our return we expect the number to be small because of a sensible decision to go into self isolation from the time of her arrival.

A new five cases of coronavirus had been confirmed following a travel history to the United Kingdom and United State Of America. The Center For Disease Control has confirmed the new five cases in Nigeria. The Minster For Health has urge Nigerians to remain calm has measures is been taken effectively to monitor all land borders across the country.The travel history of the affected cases is being compiled and contact tracing is ongoing 

The Senate has called on President Muhammed Buhari to address the Nation on the dreaded Covid19 and to set up a special intervention found o tackle the pandemic this follow the motion by Senator Danjuma Goje which also urge the Federal Government to also establish testing centers in all the states of the Federation.

The Nigeria Government has suspended the issuing of visas on arrival to the foreigners and also  the Government has placed travel restrictions to 13 countries. The countries include China, Italy, Iran, South Korea, Spain, Japan, France, Germany, the United States of America, Norway, the United Kingdom, Netherlands and Switzerland.


All travelers returning from these countries prior to the restriction will be in supervised self-isolation, monitored by Nigeria Center for disease control  and Port Health Services.
